How can we help?
Answers to the most common questions. Still stuck? Get in touch — a real person reads every message.
How do I import a recipe?
There are three ways:
1. Share from another app. Found a recipe on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest or a blog? Tap the share button in that app and choose Eat Matters. We’ll read the post, video or page and build the recipe for you.
2. Paste a link. Inside the app, tap Import and paste any recipe URL.
3. From photos. Snap a page from a cookbook or screenshots, and the app will turn them into a structured recipe.
My import didn’t work or came out incomplete — why?
Some posts keep the recipe only in the video narration or in the comments, and a few sites or private/age-restricted posts block automated reading altogether. The app does its best with AI, but it can’t always recover everything.
If something looks off, use the “Report a problem” button on the import screen (or the “Notice a mistake?” link under a recipe photo). That sends us the link so we can improve it — and you can always edit any field by hand.
How do the free limits work?
On the free plan you can keep up to 30 recipes and run 3 imports per month. The monthly window resets one month after your first import — not on the 1st of the calendar month.
Premium removes both limits: unlimited recipes and unlimited imports.
What’s included in Premium, and is there a trial?
Premium unlocks unlimited recipes and imports, AI features (nutrition calculation, the AI dietitian, recipe translation, the smart meal planner), cross-device sync and weekly nutrition reports.
It comes with a 7-day free trial. Plans: $3.99 / month, $14.99 / year, or $34.99 once for lifetime access.
How do I cancel or change my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed through your app store, so you manage them there:
iPhone / iPad: open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Eat Matters, then cancel or change your plan.
Android: open the Google Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Eat Matters.
If you cancel, Premium stays active until the end of the current billing period.
I bought Premium but it’s not showing on my new phone.
Open Settings → Restore purchases in the app while signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account you bought with. Your entitlement will sync back automatically.
Will I lose my recipes if I reinstall the app?
No. Even on the free plan, your recipes are backed up to this device, so they come back after a reinstall. Sign in and turn on Premium for full cross-device sync, so your library follows you to any phone or tablet.
How do I delete my recipes, my account or my data?
To remove your content, open Settings → Delete all recipes — this also clears your meal plan and shopping list on the device.
To delete your account and any data synced to our servers, email us at support@eatmatters.app from your account address (or use Contact the developer in the app) and we’ll erase it. See our Privacy policy for what we store.
Which languages does the app support?
Eat Matters is available in 14 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Romanian, Greek, Swedish, Turkish, Russian and Ukrainian. It follows your device language automatically.
